Madden and Associates are still open, operating and completing site inspections. Our staff are operating out of offices, home offices and remotely conducting inspections.
Madden have always had the position that sending our specialist employees to complete a detailed site inspection is essential to achieve the highest possible deductions while maintaining full ATO compliance. Having evidence to support potentially thousands of dollars in deductions protects our clients and partner companies now and for many years into the future. This position is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
Safety measures we have put in place
We are explaining the safety steps that we are taking to the occupants of every home and premises we inspect. Once this is clear we are finding that property occupants are working with us to ensure we are operating in the safest possible environment.
All occupants are asked:
To open all doors and turn on lights during the inspection, so that the site inspector doesn’t need to touch anything
About any symptoms and overseas travel prior to the inspection
Our site inspectors are:
Carrying safety equipment including masks, gloves and hand sanitiser
Adhering to social distancing rules
Removing their shoes where possible
We also assure you that our site inspectors have not travelled overseas in the past fourteen days.
Any Madden staff member displaying flu like symptoms will be directed to seek medical advice and follow Government regulations which may include self-isolating for fourteen days.
Service levels
Some remote areas are harder to get to due to travel restrictions and lack of flights. In these areas there will be some delay in completing the inspection. Both landlords and tenants are being updated on progress in these areas. Please bear with us in these difficult times.
The quality of our depreciation schedules and achieving the maximum cash return is more important than a quick turnaround time, however if you do need your schedule urgently please let us know.
Our focus over the coming months will be the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff. If the COVID-19 situation and related government orders change we will adjust our operations immediately.
